Devra Wins Four LA Press Club Award Prizes for HuffPost Articles
Devra Māza won four prizes for her Huffington Post feature stories at the Southern California Journalism Awards with the top honor going to The Kings of Comeback: Five Lessons for Success From the World Series. The Best Sports Commentary winner was acclaimed in the judges’ statement: “This is a masterful commentary because it has all of the necessary elements—a thorough presentation of the background of the situation, the thoughtful raising of issues/questions to be answered and a discussion of what should or could be done. Well done!” In addition, Devra garnered prizes in all three Online Entertainment categories, taking 2nd place awards for Best Entertainment Feature for Ode to Joy:Robin, Joan and Laughter’s Long Life, and Best Entertainment News for The Adaptation Game: Playing With Fifty Shades Of Sex for Film, which also won a 3rd place prize for Entertainment Commentary. The ceremonies, at which Devra recieved an historic thirteen nominations, capped a decade of perennial journalism award honors celebrating Devra’s articles.
